About the Role
Our client is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to join their growing team. As the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for driving new business opportunities and managing customer relationships to grow our client’s customer base. You’ll be the first team member dedicated to building the company’s pipeline and closing deals, and will need to guide their transition from founder-led sales to a scaled out sales team. As such, you will have the ability to build a small sales team within the first year. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with a passion for data-driven advertising and marketing technology products, a proven track record in sales of performance marketing services and/or SaaS, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, accurately forecasting revenue and meeting quarterly sales goals.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to prospective customers.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships with key decision-makers.
- Collaborate with the founders and marketing team to refine our client’s go-to-market (GTM) strategy and improve their offerings based on customer feedback.
- Grow the sales team by demonstrating repeatable GTM strategies and identifying talented individuals to scale deal throughput.
- Represent our client at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote their brand and generate leads.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in SaaS sales, preferably within the AI, data, advertising, and/or marketing technology sectors.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and closing deals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of the sales process, from prospecting to closing.
- Ability to quickly learn and articulate complex technical products and solutions.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Comfortable with the fast-paced environment of an early-stage startup.
- Must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis.
Nice To Have:
- Previous team management experience.
- Experience selling AI or data-driven products.
- Experience selling to performance marketers.
- Understanding of digital advertising technologies and platforms, especially Meta and Google.
- Knowledge of e-commerce, DTC, and subscription business models.
- Familiarity with CRM software such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
- Experience with account-based marketing strategies.
