About The Role

The Finance Project Manager will be a crucial member of the IT Project Management Office (PMO), responsible for leading a variety of finance-focused projects, including implementing and optimizing asset management and finance-related software and systems. This role involves working closely with stakeholders across the organization to gather, analyze, and document requirements, and to ensure that projects are aligned with business goals. This role offers the opportunity to work with a range of applications, including G Treasury, Concur, Amex Travel, and Oracle, with a potential future ERP upgrade project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with senior leadership to identify system needs, define project goals, and build a roadmap that supports finance transformation efforts.
  • Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, resource allocation, timeline management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and risk management plans.
  • Anticipate and understand business expectations and recommend the most appropriate response to complex or ambiguous requirements.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects by adapting to changing priorities and mobilizing resources as needed.
  • Work closely with finance, IT, and external vendors to ensure project objectives align with business goals.
  • Capable of working effectively, independently, and seamlessly across both technical and business sectors. 
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders, providing updates, resolving conflicts, and adapting project plans as needed.
  • Exhibit organization, efficiency, accuracy, and creativity in all work-related tasks. 
  • Quickly detect, monitor, document, and resolve challenges. 
  • Actively addresses potential risks and obstacles in projects. 
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for implemented finance solutions.
  • Travel might be necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology or Engineering preferred. 
  • At least 5 years of experience managing finance-focused projects, preferably in an environment with multiple, concurrent initiatives.
  • Understanding of asset management, finance, accounting, or ERP systems with experience in integration and process improvement.

SKILLS:

  • Experience with Oracle systems is desirable.
  • Possess superior communication and interpersonal skills, along with the capacity to resolve problems effectively. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, balancing priorities and resources effectively.
  • Proven experience managing complex, deadline-driven projects with cross-functional teams. 
  • Exceptional skills in writing and documentation, including both technical details and business communication. 
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall) and tools.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATION:

  • PMP certification is a plus
